Frequently Asked Questions
Short, specific answers to the questions we hear most often. If you can't find what you're looking for here, email hello@loophome.com.au — we will get back to you as soon as we can.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the strictest organic certification for textiles in the world. It covers the full chain — how the cotton is grown, how it's processed, what chemicals are and aren't permitted, working conditions in the mill, and how the finished textile is labelled. Every Loop Home piece is GOTS-certified, which means the fibre is grown without synthetic pesticides, processed without chlorine bleach or formaldehyde, dyed with skin-safe chemistry, and made in a mill that meets labour and wastewater standards. Our certification number is CU1133274. For the long version, see our journal post: What Is GOTS Certification?.
Designed in our Melbourne studio, woven and finished at a family-run mill outside Denizli, on the Aegean coast of Türkiye. The mill uses a mix of traditional looms and modern OEKO-TEX-certified dye processes. Every piece is hand-finished — hem, label, fold.
Our bath towels, bath sheets, hand towels, and face towels are all woven at 650 GSM. Our bath mats are woven at 700 GSM — denser underfoot, more absorbent, built to stand up to daily wear. For context, 650 GSM sits in the premium range without crossing into the unwieldy weight that makes towels slow to dry. See our journal post on GSM explained if you want the full breakdown.
Three things. First, the fibre — long-staple organic cotton from the Aegean coastline of Türkiye, certified to GOTS, which is the highest organic textile standard available. Second, the construction — patterns are woven in two yarn colours rather than printed, so the design stays the life of the towel rather than fading or peeling. Third, end-of-life — every piece is Re-Loop eligible, meaning we take it back and put the fibre into the next generation of yarn rather than letting it go to landfill.
Yes. Our towels, bath mats, and bedding are 100% cotton — no wool, silk, down, or animal-derived finishes. Dyes are GOTS certified and made without animal-derived inputs.

Yes — full-bundle returns are accepted within the standard 30-day window, provided every piece is unwashed and unused with tags intact. Partial returns at the bundle rate aren't possible. If you'd like to keep most pieces but swap one, email us and we'll arrange an exchange for a different colourway in the same product.
Inspect your order on arrival and email hello@loophome.com.au straight away if anything is defective, damaged, or wrong. Include photos and your order number — we'll assess and make it right. Worth noting: our towels are hand-finished, so the occasional loose sewing thread or stray towel loop is part of the craft and isn't a defect. We're happy to talk you through how to trim these yourself.
Wash warm or cold with similar colours. Use a mild liquid detergent and skip the fabric softener — it coats the cotton fibres and reduces absorbency over time. Tumble dry low or hang in the shade. Avoid bleach. Avoid sharp velcro or zips in the same load. Iron only if needed, on low heat. The cotton softens with every wash, and the colour matures over the first three or four cycles.
Wash separately or with similar colours for the first two cycles, then your towels can join your regular wash load. A small amount of excess dye may release in the first one or two washes — this is normal for any deeply-dyed natural cotton and stabilises quickly.
Re-Loop is our closed-loop take-back program. When a Loop Home piece reaches the end of its useful life with you, post it back to us and we'll route the fibre into a second life — resale, donation, or mechanical fibre recycling into new yarn. You receive a credit toward your next order. See our Re-Loop page for the full process and what's eligible.
